What memories are hidden in an old jumper, a piece of lace or a scrap of fabric? Together, we’ll visit the exhibition *Catching the Thread*, where we’ll pause for a moment and swap the fast-paced world of screens for honest handiwork. We’ll explore how artists use traditional crafts – crochet, ceramics and textile work – to find calm and express feelings such as security and a sense of home. In the follow-up workshop, we’ll focus on textile art and explore how even discarded clothing can be given a new lease of life as a work of art and acquire a completely new, unique value.
