We’re serving up the ninth edition of the Summer Cinema at Pragovka – this time under the overarching theme of Mutual Benefits. This year, screenings will take place every Tuesday after dark in MaxSpace Hall, located behind the Permanent Beer Fest. Admission is free (voluntary contributions are welcome). Until the screening begins, you are welcome to visit Pragovka Gallery during its extended opening hours. Refreshments will be available from Permanent Beer Fest.
On September 1st at 8:00 PM we will screen the film Public Space of František Skála (the originally planned film Bugonia will not be screened due to technical reasons).
The film will be screened in its original version.

On a playful journey through public space with one of the most versatile Czech artists, František Skála, it’s possible to see the world differently. With humor, seriousness, and self-irony, the visual artist, performer, and musician offers a rare glimpse through many imagined doors, behind which lie beauty in imperfection, poetry in the ordinary, handprints in the passage of time, and the joy of creation as a way of life. Skála’s creative energy is also palpable in the process of creating the monumental sculpture of the dog Vulpes Gott — from the making of the model to its journey by boat down the Elbe to the opening in Dresden. The story is interwoven with the artist’s diaries and objects in public space, including his first sculpture in the Veltrusy chateau park, Prastánek, or the Paradise Garden at Sluňákov. The film features František Skála’s friends, the band Třaskavá směs, the brass band Provodovjané, and philosopher Miroslav Petříček. Skála’s Renaissance personality is also known from Divadlo Sklep, the Tvrdohlaví group, the Tros Sketos ensemble, and M.T.O. Universal. (source: Pilot Film)
