REZAVÁ ÚSTA

The book Rezavá ústa (Rusty Mouths), subtitled The Magical Decade, looks back at the beginnings of the Pragovka community. Through a series of organized events, it documents the emergence of an art center “from the ground up” through the lens of the artistic community settled in the space. It places the Pragovka community within both local and global contexts and defines a triangular foundation that the community still stands on today: the exhibition 45–Kolben Open–Kolben Daněk Salon.

The second part of the book reflects on five residency exhibitions, featuring texts by curators Karel Srp, Petr Vaňous, and Pavel Tichoň, along with a curated selection of photographs. A chapter dedicated to site-specific installations and community projects within the industrial environment concludes the main text of the book. In addition to the above-mentioned sections, the book includes an extensive appendix with artist profiles and an index of exhibitions held in Pragovka’s galleries, accompanied by visual documentation. A large portion of the photographs were taken by Marcel Rozhoň (exhibition documentation) and Jan Šípek (Kolben Open documentation).

NEČEKANÉ ZASTÁVKY MEZI RŮSTEM A PŮSTEM

A collection of texts titled Nečekané zastávky mezi růstema půstem was created in response to the year-long program of Pragovka Gallery in 2024, whose main theme was Growth and Degrowth. The aim of this publication is to expand the understanding of the theme of growth and degrowth through a multidisciplinary perspective. It offers additional viewpoints, builds on topics explored within the exhibition and residency program, and at the same time opens up further possibilities for their interpretation. The texts included can be understood as unexpected stops between growth and fasting, as well as signposts leading toward a deeper exploration of this theme.
