EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

POINT, LINE, SHAPE

Target group: 1st–4th grade of elementary school

Duration: 90 minutes (with art workshop)

Topic: collage, assemblage, composition, fragment

Petra Navrátilová’s exhibition presents new approaches to classical art forms – collage and assemblage. As part of the educational program, we will introduce these techniques together with the students, explore the hidden historical fragments and stories that the works contain. We will focus on the composition of artistic elements, discover the possibilities of their arrangement and explore how composition influences the resulting visual expression of the work of art.

STORIES FROM THE POCKETS OF COLLECTORS

Target group: 1st–4th grade of elementary school
Duration: 90 minutes (with art workshop)
Topic: collecting, value of objects, personal collections, art and stories of objects

The program will focus on collectibles that play an important role in Petra Navrátilová’s artworks. Through observing her works, we will learn with children how even the smallest object can carry its value and story. How do found objects become works of art? How can we create our own collection and what can it tell us about ourselves?

FROM LANDSCAPE TO CITY

Target group: 1st–9th grade of elementary school

Duration: 90 minutes (with art workshop)

Topic: landscape, city, transformation, perspective, perception of space

How is the landscape around us changing? How do we perceive the difference between natural and urban landscapes? Together we will explore the changes in the environments we live in and look for answers to these questions. We will discover how the city and nature influence each other, what elements we find in them and how they change over time. We will focus on perspective, perception of space and transitions between the natural and urbanized world. The program is based on the exhibition Around the Clock: The Factory Effect.

FACTORY EFFECT

Target group: 1st–9th grade of elementary school

Duration: 90 minutes (with art workshop)

Topic: factory, industry, ecology

During the educational program, we will look into the atmosphere of a former automobile factory, which became the location for the exhibition Around the Clock: The Factory Effect. As part of the program, we will discover how factories not only change our lives, but also the landscape around us. Through art activities, we will focus on how production and technology have influenced nature, workers and the architecture of the former factory itself. The program will be full of art activities and discussions that will lead us to reflect on the relationship between humans, technology and nature.

CONTINUING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS

FROM LIGHT TO COLOR

Target group: 1st–2nd grade of elementary school

Duration: 90 minutes (with art workshop)

Topic: color, color spectrum, shades, light, perception

The educational program explains the origin of colors and their perception by the human eye. We will introduce children to the properties of light through experiments that demonstrate the blending of colors and their changes in various conditions. The program supports the development of visual thinking and connects scientific knowledge with creative activities, thus combining education with playful discovery.

BEHIND THE WORK OF ART

Target group: 1st–9th grade of elementary school

Duration: 90 minutes (with art workshop)

Topic: artist, work, exhibition

The educational program focuses on a specific work from current exhibitions at Pragovka Gallery and offers a detailed look at the artist’s artistic practice. Through activities and discussions, students will discover aesthetics, technical procedures and broader contexts – their thoughts, emotions and stories that they reflect. The program also allows them to immerse themselves in the creative process, understand the motivations of the artist and explore how his/her experiences and social issues shape the resulting artistic output. This experiential approach supports visual and critical thinking, opening students to a deeper understanding of art and its importance in everyday life.

SCULPTURES FOR PRAGOVKA!
