Petra Navrátilová (1986) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, Painting Restoration Studio (2011). During her studies, she completed internships in the painting studio and the sculpture studio. She has had a studio in Pragovka since 2011. In her free work, she is dedicated to painting and especially the assemblage technique. She uses materials that she finds during the restoration of monuments, e.g. in building rubble. These are fragments of old plaster, stucco and tiled stoves that can no longer be used or repaired. She also uses waste generated during restoration, fragments of old secondary coatings, nails removed from paintings, old duplicating canvases and cotton swabs used when cleaning paintings. She processes these materials in assemblage, when found objects lose their original meaning and become works of art. Thus, the objects do not end up in a landfill and their life, which has often lasted since the Renaissance, continues. Thematically, the assemblages focus on motifs closely connected to everyday life and depicting the immediate surroundings.
