Residency outcome: 12.2.2026
The project is based on the work of the nonprofit organization Artreuse, where I work as a producer. Artreuse focuses on the recycling and redistribution of materials from the cultural and commercial sectors. This system benefits both sides—it helps institutions and companies manage waste efficiently and ecologically, while also providing artists and non-profit organizations with access to materials that would otherwise end up as waste.
During the residency, I want to focus on experimental spatial creation using materials sourced locally in Prague. The goal is to create an interactive installation—or, simply put, a workshop—that will transform and rearrange itself over time in response to new materials and the environment. The installation will reflect the principles of sharing, reciprocity, and the circulation of materials, which form the basis of Artreus’s activities, while also expanding my painting practice to include a spatial and participatory dimension.
As part of the studio’s open house, I would also like to involve visitors in the project through small workshops focused on working with found materials and collaborative creation. I would also like to invite some artists with whom I have been collaborating for a long time—such as Mashu Kovtun, Štěpán Brož, and Kateřina Rafaelová—to join me in creating collaborative works, for example, using the technique of burning with a soldering iron into wooden panels.
These activities would make the creative process accessible to the public and help foster a sense of mutuality beyond the artwork itself.The project thus connects ecological, social, and artistic aspects and creates space for dialogue with the local community and other artists within the Pragovka complex. After the residency concludes, the artwork or its parts will be dismantled, and the materials returned to the Artreuse platform, where they will be prepared for further use.
At the same time, the project will help raise awareness of the platform and offer an opportunity to reach a new audience—both the art community and the general public—who, thanks to the residency, will learn about the possibilities of sharing and reusing materials. This closes the entire cycle of sharing, circulation, and reciprocity of materials while simultaneously opening up new possibilities for collaboration and community engagement.
