This interactive projection on syntropic farming delivers a message directly from the Bolivian Amazon jungle, where Elsa Šebková has been practicing syntropic agriculture for some time. Elsa is the founder of www.syntropy.cz and is dedicated to raising awareness about this extensive yet regenerative approach to agriculture in the Czech Republic. In the video, initiated by artist Vladimíra Večeřová, Elsa guides us through the fundamental ideas of syntropy and shows us a lush garden she planted two years ago.
In her concept of syntropy, Elsa connects the growth of plants with the growth of human consciousness, creating a link to Večeřová’s installation, which explores themes of emptiness, listening, and touch — sensations that can guide us inward to our very core.
The interactive projection is a collaborative project by Elsa Šebková (content, video recording) and Vladimíra Večeřová (concept development, editing, post-production). It will be presented at Pragovka Gallery as part of the accompanying program to Vladimíra Večeřová’s exhibition Phyllostachys nuda, following the exhibition catalogue launch and guided tour with the artist on Thursday, May 22 at 6 PM.
Elsa Šebková has been exploring how to harmonize human needs with a respectful relationship to the Earth for over 20 years. In recent years, she has focused on studying so-called syntropic farming, which uses the dynamic growth of plants to regenerate soil, address the climate crisis, create nature-based ecosystems, and produce food. Her approach to syntropy intertwines plant growth with the evolution of human consciousness. She is currently based in Bolivia, where she continues to develop her work in the rainforest environment.
