Pasha lives in a small Russian town and is a well-liked teacher at the local primary school. With the outbreak of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the nature of his work changes dramatically. He is forced to organize activities in line with the new wartime curriculum and document them on camera. As demands on teachers continue to escalate, Pasha watches his former students leave for the front line and tensions within the community grow.
Frustrated and increasingly disillusioned, Pasha decides to fight back in the only way he knows how. He begins filming not only the state-mandated activities but also everyday life in and around the school, determined to show the world the impact of war and authoritarian rule on his community. Mr. Nobody Against Putin offers a raw insight into the mechanisms of Russian propaganda while telling the gripping story of a man willing to risk everything rather than betray his values.
