Right through

On Sunday, November 15, we invite you to Pragovka Gallery for another Sunday for Families with Children, this time inspired by the exhibition Capturing the Thread (Zachytit nit).

What can be created from scraps of fabric that seem to have served their purpose? And how do individual threads, colors, and stories become something shared?

Together, we will venture into the world of textiles, weaving, and handcrafted techniques. We will look at their place in art history and how traditional crafts, long associated primarily with women’s labor and daily care, have become a medium for artistic expression and social commentary.

In the studio, we will dive into simple weaving and interlacing. We will use leftover and unwanted fabrics to give them a new form, function, and meaning together. Every piece of material can become part of a new story. We will experiment with colors, textures, and patterns, connecting various materials, and capturing our own impression of the present moment.

Because we can create together, regardless of age or experience. And sometimes, it is precisely from small, seemingly mismatched parts that the most fascinating wholes emerge.
